Real boards deserve real software.

WhitePawn started as an app that connected one electronic board to one phone. Today it is one platform for playing, streaming and analyzing on real boards: iPhone, iPad, Android and the web, with drivers we publish as open source.

Principles

What we hold ourselves to.

  • The board comes first.

    Every feature starts from a physical board: connecting it, playing on it, showing it to others. Screens are the companion, not the point.

  • Your games are yours.

    Export any game as PGN, delete your account when you want, and know that your content is never used to train AI models. No advertising trackers.

  • Hosted in the EU.

    Servers and database run in Germany. The service operates under German law and the GDPR.

  • Open where it counts.

    The drivers that talk to the boards are published under the MIT licence, so anyone can build on them.
